Churros in an air fryer? Don't mind if I do.
Want delicious churros with less guilt? You can make homemade churros in your kitchen using your air fryer or oven. It's quick, easy, mess-free, and delicious!
Here's what to do!
Make your churro dough with our “just add water” churro dry mix packet, or check out our online recipe book to make our signature churro dough from scratch! (Gluten-free and vegan recipes are available as well!)
Greece or spray your air fryer pan, then, fill your churro dough into your San Diablo Churro Maker and twist out the churros! If desired, you can brush canola oil (or alternate oil) on each churro to improve the crispiness. Don’t let the churros touch each other and make sure they have room to expand slightly.
You can also twist out all of your churros ahead of time and let them chill slightly in the fridge until you’re ready to bake them in the air fryer.
Let your churros bake in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees F. Watch the churros and rotate with metal tongs as needed to get the entire churro to your ideal golden brown crispiness (usually 5-7 min.). When they are perfectly golden and crispy, immediately transfer your churros into a bowl of cinnamon sugar to coat. Fill your churros with your favorite filling such as warm chocolate ganache or dulce de leche, or dip them into your favorite sauce.
Everything you need to make air-fried churros at home can be found in the San Diablo Fiesta in a Box at-home churro-making kit for a crowd-pleasing dessert without the hassle. Baked churros are just as delicious as traditionally fried churros but even easier to make. Plus, you don’t have to worry about handling hot oil (or cleaning up grease!)
